Refund Policy

At Local Uncle, we are committed to providing reliable, high-quality services across all categories. We understand that circumstances can sometimes prevent a service from being delivered as planned. This Refund Policy explains when you are eligible for a refund, how to request one, and what to expect during the process.

Please read this policy carefully before making a booking. By using Local Uncle's platform, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Scope & Applicability

This policy applies to all bookings made through the Local Uncle platform, including but not limited to:

  • Home services (cleaning, repairs, maintenance, etc.)
  • Personal care services (grooming, wellness, beauty, etc.)
  • Tutoring and educational services
  • Any other service category available on the Local Uncle platform

This policy covers bookings made through the LocalUncle platform.

2. Refund Eligibility

A refund will be considered in the following scenarios:

2.1 Service Provider Cancellation

If your assigned service provider cancels your booking, Local Uncle will first attempt to reassign another available provider for your requested time slot. If no replacement is available, you will be eligible for a full refund.

2.2 Customer-Initiated Cancellation

If you wish to cancel a booking, you must do so within 24 hours of the original booking time to be eligible for a refund. Cancellation requests made after this window will not qualify for a refund.

Note: Refund eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Local Uncle reserves the right to make the final decision regarding refund approvals.

3. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:

  • The service was completed successfully as booked.
  • The customer was absent or unavailable at the scheduled time of service.
  • The cancellation request was made more than 24 hours after booking.
  • The service had already commenced at the time of cancellation.
  • The booking was cancelled due to incorrect information provided by the customer (e.g., wrong address, wrong service selected).

4. How to Request a Refund

To raise a refund request, follow these steps:

  1. Raise a request via email at support@localuncle.in.
  2. Provide your booking details: Share your Booking ID, registered phone number or email, the reason for cancellation, and any relevant details.
  3. Our team will review your request and confirm whether it qualifies for a refund based on this policy.
  4. If approved, the refund will be initiated within 24 hours to your original payment method.

5. Refund Processing Timeline

Once a refund is approved, please refer to the following timeline:

Payment Method Processing Time
Refund Initiation Within 24 hours of approval by Local Uncle
Bank / UPI Processing 3 to 7 business days (varies by bank or payment provider)
Credit / Debit Card 5 to 7 business days
UPI / Net Banking 1 to 3 business days
Wallets 1 to 2 business days

Please note: The time taken by your bank, payment gateway, or UPI provider to process and credit the refund is outside Local Uncle's control. Local Uncle's responsibility ends once the refund has been initiated from our end.

6. Refund Method

All approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at the time of booking. We do not currently offer refunds to a different account, payment method, or in the form of platform credits.

  • UPI payments → refunded to the originating UPI ID
  • Debit / Credit card payments → refunded to the same card
  • Net banking → refunded to the originating bank account

7. Policy Amendments

Local Uncle reserves the right to update or modify this Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon being posted on our platform. We encourage customers to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Local Uncle services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
